The Solution

We humans have the ability to seek after the truth. Although we can never experience the fullness of truth whilst we live in this world we can live our lives in a certain way that prepares us to experience the fullness of truth. That is to know God.

How do we do this?

Living a life pleasing to God means that we have emerged from the darkness and at last we are free to live a divine life of perfect peace, love and joy. We can’t even comprehend how wonderful that is. It is going to heaven to be with our Lord forever.

So how do we please God? How do we aspire to change the world we live in?

This is impossible for man but God sent His son Our Lord Jesus Christ to give the gift of eternal life to those who receive His love. Jesus is the only person who lived without sin.

Let me ask you this question, can you honestly tell me that you have never sinned?

I will put my hand on my heart and tell you that I can’t. In fact I will go further and tell you that apart from Jesus, no one is free of sin. All, but one of us, has failed and fall short of the glory of God. Our sin debts are huge and it is impossible for us to repay our debts on our own such that we can be righteous in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.

But we can still turn away from sin. That is standing up like a warrior with the determination never to sin again. But we all have faults and can fail. We are not perfect. Apart from Jesus, all of us fall short of the glory of God. God knew that we will always fall short of the mark and fail in our sins so He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and save us from our sins so that we can be righteous in the eyes of our Heavenly Father.

Can you imagine owing huge amounts of money knowing full well that you will never ever be able to pay that debt off. You live in fear of bailiffs knocking on the door and throwing you out in the street. And then someone comes along and writes you a cheque for ten million pounds! That would be great wouldn’t it. Just think what you could do with all that money besides throwing a wad of fifty pound notes in the bailiff’s face. That would be better then winning the jackpot in the lottery several times over.

Now let me challenge you..Can you think of anything better then that?

That’s enough money to keep you happy for the rest of your life.. and then what.. our lives are only temporary. We are not going to live forever. The wealth that a rich person has will not be with them forever. The money worries that a poor person has will also not be with them forever. But the sin problem that anyone has WILL be with them forever unless it is dealt with! We cannot use our own effort to deal with this and just like a poor persons bills we simply cannot pay. We fall short. The good news is that we don’t need to repay the sin debt using our own efforts and just as well as that would be impossible.

The death of Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for sin is a free gift.

He offers that gift freely and lovingly.

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” – John 1:12

Just like any free gift, you must receive it for it to be really yours. If you receive this gift all your sin debts are wiped eternally, not just for the remainder of your life on this planet but forever. You may be poor, other people may be nasty to you, people may ignore you, you could be disabled or have some crippling disease but so what… it is only temporary. Accept the free gift of our Lord Jesus Christ and have all your sin debts wiped away forever, never ever to be remembered ever by God as they are forever washed away never ever to return and haunt you ever! Look forward to being in paradise for all eternity…. forever! Now how many ‘ever’s’ can you find in winning the lottery?

Well two actually!… ‘Never forever!’

So why not have your own very special relationship with God? All you have to do is accept this free gift. You accept this gift by believing that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour and that He died for your sins.

Once you put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are born again and all your sins are wiped away, never to be remembered or brought up again by God. You are now a child of God and the Father’s desire is for you to live with the full assurance of His love for you.
